I rarely give high ratings but in this case it's well deserved. I wanted a Canon G7X II, lowest price was at Cool Mobile. It was so low compared to other shops that I thought it would be parallel import, with a possibly opened box to swap charger cable. I also wondered where, in case of parallel import, I'd got for warranty. So I sent an email with my questions and got a quick reply back explaining it was *not* parallel import, all brand new, unopened box etc. I told them that was awesome and they'd see my order soon. The very next day I wanted to actually place the order but by then the price had gone up $30. I emailed them again and was told that yes, price of the camera had gone up but I could still get the camera for the price that it was listed for when I sent them my first email. I was given clear payment instructions, made the payment and a few hours later got the confirmation that they had received my payment and already shipped the camera. That was yesterday. They are in Auckland, I am in Christchurch. I received the camera today. It was very well packed and indeed brand new and unopened. So low price, good communication, quick delivery, good packaging and they keep their promise. HIGHLY recommended seller.

It has now happened a number of times now that I see an item on the Rockshop's website listed as in stock for the Hornby branch but when I go there or call them it turns out it's a DEMO model. So not the item new, in an unopened box, no they always open the boxes and have the items on display where everyone can touch it. Now if a demo model would sell at a discounted price to compensate for the fact it's now a used item, I could live with that. That's however not the case. The Rockshop expects you to pay the full amount for what is in fact a used product. They seem to have NO stock whatsoever. When I say I want a brand NEW item they look in their computer and see it's still in stock (new) at one of their other branches and they can get the item in for me from that other branch but it's ME who would have to pay for the shipping. So because the ROCKSHOP refuses to have new items in stock and insists on opening every box, it's the CUSTOMER who has to fork out extra money. This is unacceptable. If a product is listed as in stock for price X at branch Y then a customer should EXPECT it to be in stock at price X at branch Y. The Rockshop continues to fail here. I've spent thousands of dollars at the Rockshop but will not be spending any more money there.

Ordered a set of camera filters that is listed on their website as 'in stock with supplier, usually ships within 6 to 9 days'. First of all I don't understand why something that is in stock can just be shipped the very same day or the at least the next day. Do they have a backlog of things to send that is 6 to 9 days long? Shouldn't they put some effort into getting rid of the backlog in that case? After ordering I got an email with a link : 'View the status of your order online.' when you click the link you are taken to the 'My account' page of rubber monkey, which is empty since I don't HAVE an account with them (and likely never will). Why, if they provide a link, can't it be a link to the courier's site with a track and trace number? It's now 10 days after I ordered and still haven't received a thing. Won't be ordering from them again.

They have decent material and a lot in stock but what royally pisses me off is that the price is ALWAYS WRONG. You look on their website, see an item advertised for say 100$, you deem that price to be fair, so you head over to the store, grab the article go to the counter and it turns out it's $110 or whatever. Whenever I go there and whatever I buy there, I nowadays ALWAYS bring a a printed screen dump of the item advertised at $100 so that when they want to charge me $110 I can show them that - once again - the price in the store is NOT what is listed online. Believe me, they pull this trick on you, every, single, time.

Wanted to order a monitor (1920x1200) that was listed here on pricespy as "in stock". Ordered the monitor but just to be sure send them an email as well asking them if the monitor I just ordered was in stock. Got an email back saying it was NOT in stock, in fact, it was obsolete. They did in their reply however list 2 alternative monitors with a resolution of 1920x1080. *sigh*
