FDC has no control over delivery of their products, they don't care when is delivered and they would promise you what you want just for you to make a payment.
My experience goes:
Wanted a product ($2,243) and wanted ASAP, did my research and shortlisted FDC as they have an option for picking up the item from their supplier warehouse, 1/2 hour drive for me. I placed an order on line Thursday night, 13 Jan 2011 and left for Friday morning to ring them and check some details including delivery/pick up. So, I rang FDC 9.05am, explained what I want and that I want the product on the same day. "Sure, no problems, you can pick up yourself or we can deliver to address you nominate (same city)". I asked again is she sure that they can deliver the same day. "As long as you make payment in next 1/2 hour I can give them instructions straight away to proceed with delivery". She also asked me for a delivery address and I gave her address that is different to my postal address. I made the payment 9.10am and immediately send her an email telling that payment is made.
3pm no sign of courier, I sent email to FDC followed by phone call. At that time if problems with courier I still had time to drive to the supplier?s warehouse and collect the item. I got FDC director on the phone (didn't know at that time) and he told me that I can't collect the item, that hasn't been picked up by courier and that he can do nothing about it. He also told me that I'll receive the item on Monday morning and that person I talked to on Friday morning told me wrong.
On Monday afternoon there was no sign of the courier with my item, so I emailed the director. He said he'll enquire and come back to me, he also gave me a link to track the parcel. As he hasn't replied I asked again. He said that the courier had some undisclosed problems and that my item won't be delivered on Monday. He apologised but he couldn't say when I'm going to receive my item.
Tuesday afternoon, no sign of delivery and then around 4pm I received notification from the courier that item was delivered, showing a signature on my behalf. Nobody at the delivery address received the parcel. When I returned home (my postal address) the item was there.
In summary, it took FDC 103 hours to deliver what was promised to be delivered the same day (8 hours) and they gave the courier company my postal address instead of delivery address. FDC did nothing to speed up the delivery, they are powerless in that regard. I received words of apology, but for me that is way too little for 95 hours of the delivery delay. Their delivery promise was exceeded 1287 %. Even half a star rating for this FDC?s trade sounds too much.
