Scary easy to set up if you follow the instructions. No dropouts playing Netflix or YouTube. It also solved my issue with my Panasonic tv's bult in Netflix constantly defaulting to 5.1, despite me constantly affirming stereo. (I run old school analog stereo with a dedicated stero dac) Highly recommend.

Have had this product for a while now and am very disappointed with it. Very often it is not even possible to connect to it and when it goes away we get very low resolution fixed than we have run 250mbps-500mbps network.

Has worked flawlessly in my home so far. Good integration also with Google Assistant and Google Home. My parents, on the other hand, have had a lot of connectivity issues between the phone and Chromecast (2nd generation), but they also have extremely unstable internet at home so I would probably blame the problems on it rather than on the product. Worth noting though. If you know you have unstable Internet, a dedicated media box with your own remote control (Android TV or Apple TV for example) may be more appropriate. If you are unsure, you can buy a Chromecast anyway and try it out, and if your internet doesn't work well, you can give it to someone you like. Who would totally appreciate getting a Chromecast!

Feels slightly more stable than previous version, ffa a little faster. After a while got problems with random restarts. After about 6 and several updates I realized that it was probably HW error on mine. Advertised and got it exchanged. The new version is very good so far. Could it have been HW on these in the beginning, see more people mentioning the reboot here. Seems to be resolved in the new version of this model anyway.
