Game of the month: Trials Of Mana

The third, and re-worked version of the Trials of Mana has been released for PC, Playstation and Switch

In Trials of Mana, you take on the role of hero and together with two companions you take up the pursuit of the forces of evil in a world on the edge of total collapse. Your goal is to prevent eight evil gods - the Benevodons - from being released from their mana stone prisons scattered throughout the gaming world.

As the game begins, you select your hero and the two companions from a total of six playable characters, all with different background stories and unique characteristics. Depending on the characters you choose, the story plays out differently. If you want to access all the stories you have to play the Trials of Mana several times.

Trials of Mana is a Japanese role-playing game, a so-called JRPG, first released in 1995 with the name Seiken Densetsu 3. The new version is updated with new 3D graphics, English voice acting and re-worked music. All characters have also been given a fourth class character to play.

You might notice some things if you compare it to the original game, but despite the updates, Trials of Mana has retained much of what characterised the original game, from the combat system to the dialogues and the unique characteristics of each character. Which character in Trials of Mana is your favourite?

The Last of Us Part II will be delayed

The Last of Us Part II won’t be released in May as previously planned. Due to the current corona crisis, game developer Naughty Dog has chosen to postpone the launch. This is the second time the game has been delayed. The Last of Us Part II was first presented in 2016 and was initially scheduled to be released in February. Due to lack of time, however, Naughty Dog was forced to postpone the launch to the end of May, but now it’s time to move the date again.

The reason is logistics problems as a result of the corona crisis. Naughty Dog says they don't think they can meet the needs of anyone who wants to play The Last of Us Part II right now, and that's why they're putting off the launch.

Other games such as Iron Man VR, Minecraft Dungeons and Wasteland 3 are also affected by delayed launch dates.

The Last of Us 2 will release on June 19, 2020.
