Ascent

3 years ago we bought an iPod speaker dock from Ascent, after 2 weeks the speakers started producing a crackling noise all the time, so we returned them (we had to pay postage..), after a week with no contact from Ascent we tried to contact them, it was impossible, we never got our replacement.

Would not recommend if you plan on actually using the warranty that comes with your product..

Ordered and paid by card on the 28th based on price and in stock advice then email on 30th item on back order and may be available 5th. Asked for confirmation available 5th or refund/reversal of transaction to buy elsewhere. Received copy of invoice and credit note. The site is still advising (2nd) item in pricespy as being in stock!This firm's actions are not credible and their in stock advice is misleading to be kind. As a "virtual store" they hold no stock which the holiday closure is highlighting and their advertising should reflect reality with the instock advice withdrawn.

First time dealing with Ascent and overall a great experience. Would definitely buy from them again.

Pros: Competitive price with free shipping, plus timely communication and great customer service. Shipping is pretty quick too.

Cons: My only complaint is the website design. As some new products are put under "other" section instead of their right sections, it might not be easy for the customers to know what products they stock, which s a bit pity.

Second time dealing with Ascent. Once again, perfect. Delivered I am sure almost as fast as physically possible to Christchurch. Great, functional website if you know what you are looking for. Only reason I give 9 stars is that the packaging for my 4 case fans was less than I have come to expect from other suppliers. Honestly, that is just me being extremely picky though, because they came packed well with newspaper inside the box. Very, very confident when I deal with these guys that I will get no nonsense service - pick them!

Recently ordered a Canon HV 40 from Ascent. Ordered on Sunday, arrived on Wednesday, which is a good time for delivery (3 business days). The camera was in perfect condition, and was well packed.

No hidden costs (free shipping to NZ, and all prices are GST inclusive), and 1 hidden discount (for paying by direct credit).

Great store, Will be buying from them again.

I have purchased items from Ascent few times, Each time the orders took about 1-3 days in freight.

They have a physical address in Wellington which at that time was a motivation for me to purchase an item at a higher price, as I thought I'd be able to pick it up. however I found out the hard way they don't stock items :). They have a note about this on their website now though.

My only issue with Ascent is most items are generally more expensive then elsewhere, but over all this is a very nice, worthwhile store, with good customer service.
