As title says, HD5750 or HD4890? I haven't googled benchmarks or anything but I imagine that the 4890 is a bit better but the 5750 has the bonus of DX11 support. I just thought I'd ask for your opinion. I could just wait for the prices to drop and survive on my HD4850 Toxic OC 750/1265 :P .

HD5750 = $243.98

HD4890 = $284.39

if you can afford a little more then go for the 5850 here is the review for the 5770 couldn't really find one for the 5750. The 5770 seems to stack up quite well though.

test by Futuremark, the 5750 is much lower than 4890, if you'd like to play with dx11 game, go for 5770, if not, 4890 is very nice card.

Also I don't know if you're at all interested in multi-monitor support, if you are then the 5xxx series have the pretty awesome eyefinity feature which lets you use 3 monitors at once! (granted this is not for the faint hearted, and i'm guessing from your price range you're probably not that interested in tri-monitor gaming lol)

4890 competes with 5770 and wins some fights and loses others... the 5750 is in another lower class performance wise...

save some more and get a 5850... otherwise just stick with 5770... if you don't care about performance get 5750... if you don't care about future proofing get 4890 (still fast and getting damn cheap)

totally agree with gaspard

if u can afford then 5770 is probably your best bet with similar performance to 4890 + eyefinity feature + dx11 support...

Why not a 5770? The card should show longer legs than the HD 4890 as performance or image quality is improved when developers implement Direct X 11 and you get much lower idle/load power useage figures so it should be quieter and cheaper to run. Also the 5770 is about the same price as the HD 4890 so whilst it loses a bit now with Direct X 10/10.1 games it should be more powerful in Direct X 11 applications.

GPU Radeon HD 4870 Radeon HD 5750 Radeon HD 5770
Max. Board Power (TDP) 160W 86W 108W
Idle Board Power 90W 16W 18W

So you can see the 5770 uses so much less power relative to the 4890 in idle you could probably power a lightbulb with it. Also the 5770 is equal with the 4870 in Crisis Warhead which is a DX10 game.
