My Sony DSC-W110 compact is not producing good quality images, especially in low light conditions so I want to upgrade. Have read a several different reviews and it seems most have image quality problems.
Does anyone have a good compact they can recommend?
Thanks

I have found that most compact digitals are not great in low light conditions, and in other situations without a manual ISO setting you get grainy images. You need a low ISO setting to get a low grain image.......not sure if many compacts will let you alter ISO

Hi,
You should consider the Fujifilm F200EXR.
Not that cheap but ~ 90+% of the photo's turn out right.
Bought one for my wife and she loves it.

I prefer the Fuji F30 or F31 but they don't make those models any more.

As dwing said there is a trade off between good lowlight quality and compact size
but i find the Samsung WB550 (HZ15W) works well for low light (in my opinion).
Has excellent optical and digital(if you want) image stabilisation.
It has upto 16sec exposure and 3200ISO, with a decent sized lens.
Full Manual control mode (inc. exposure/focus/iso etc..) is available as well if you fell like using it.
Also has 10x optical zoom and 720p HD (30fps) video mode.

Its not as expensive as it is on the page. I picked mine up from DSE a few months ago for $529.

They may be a bit expensive, but they are pretty good as well:
