Does it matter which of these CPU's my laptop has. They all look pretty similar on here.

Is there one i should specifically look out for??

There wouldn't be much difference between them, as long as you've got discreet graphics. But if you didn't then there would be a significant difference seeing Ivy Bridge (3xxx models) has much better graphics.

I don't think toshibia have a gaming series

Desktop definitely. You could spend the same on a desktop and get a far more powerful machine than a laptop.

And pbtech have 8gb of ram for $89. Would that be as simple as buy and insert into the laptop and away I go???

The guy at noel leeming said id have to buy 8gb from them and that's like $250

You should be able to put any ram that is the right socket in, unless the ram is soldered to the mobo or sealed in or something, so getting the stuff from pb will work most likely

That laptop looks good. And any DDR3 SODIMM RAM would work fine.

Yeah I've had a think about the desktop v laptop and while I agree with your comments. The portability factor is a must.
